Cinéphilia West has been forced to close due to an ongoing dispute with our landlord at 171 Westbourne Grove, London, W11 2RS who has forcibly re-taken possession of the premises; we were under the impression a new lease was going to be entered into, sadly not to be the case. As he is refusing access to the premises to release items including stock held for third parties, any third parties wishing to obtain possession of their stock should contact Amin Taha c/o Ingram Winter Green Solicitors, Bedford House, 21A John Street, London, WC1N 2BL; tel: 020 7845 7400.
In the ten months that Cinéphilia West has been operational, it has generated an enormous amount of admiration and appreciation, with an army of friends and supporters, from regular guests and customers, over three hundred members, and an extensive list of partners and collaborators involved in hosting a whole range of film screenings and special events. We are very sorry to everyone who can no longer enjoy our services, activities and hospitality.
We very much hope to resurrect the operation in other more accommodating premises in the near future, or to temporarily develop a more nomadic existence working with other existing venues on various programming and special events. We will be keeping open all channels of communication with our many friends, and hope to be back with more news in the time ahead.
Thanks again to everyone who has given us love and respect – we dearly wish to be able to continue to reciprocate in another time and another place…
Yoram, Nicky, Bea and the entire Cinéphilia West team.
